Developing the leadership skills of young people for the sustainable development and social innovation of their rural communities are the goals of Youleaders!
On June 3, the young people from Colégio São Miguel-Oficial Fátima showed that they can be agents of change by presenting their social projects!
After six months of training on topics such as Social Innovation, Gender Equality, Sustainable Development Goals, Digital Skills, Climate Change and Social Entrepreneurship, these young people were able to build project ideas, duly accompanied by facilitators.
This moment of project presentation, recognition and celebration was very rewarding for Rosto Solidário and Cáritas Portuguesa, as well as for the teachers and parents who supported and accompanied this process of growth.
During the event, the winning project and group of young people was announced: “SOS – Solvit or Shut it”, which proposes working on financial literacy in Portuguese schools.
These young people will have the opportunity to take part in an event in September in Trapani, Italy, where they will be able to exchange views with their peers, the winning participants from Italy and Spain.
The main aim of this project is to develop the leadership skills of young people living in rural contexts and geographically isolated areas who often face challenges and limitations in their communities due to a lack of resources and opportunities.
