The “Mulheres e Vida” project focuses on the empowerment of Angolan women in the dioceses of Luanda, Viana, and Caxito, promoting both individual and community strengthening through capacity building and the creation of knowledge-sharing and replication networks.
The project’s first training session took place from May 30 to June 1 in the Diocese of Caxito, bringing together 30 women from the three dioceses.
Over the course of three days, participants experienced intense moments of sharing, active listening, critical reflection, and personal growth. Practical activities, group dynamics, and real case analyses sparked deep engagement and motivation.
Topics addressed included entrepreneurship and women’s empowerment.
This training marked the first step in a journey designed to transform participants into multipliers of impact, able to replicate the knowledge acquired within their communities through the facilitation of 10 local community action groups.
The trained women expressed a clear commitment to sharing what they learned locally, bringing hope, tools, and inspiration to their communities. This participatory methodology aims to ensure the sustainability and multiplication of impact.
This successful start was only made possible thanks to the collaboration of several strategic partners:
- Cáritas de Angola, tireless in on-the-ground implementation
- Camões – Instituto da Cooperação e da Língua, the project funder
- Cáritas Portuguesa and Saúde em Português, key partners in technical support
- Local institutions and communities involved in mobilization and follow-up
At the beginning of the training, Rosto Solidário also had the opportunity to participate in a press conference officially launching the project, held at the headquarters of Cáritas de Angola, the project’s implementing partner on the ground.
The session welcomed various partner and institutional representatives, including Bishop António Bengui, President of Cáritas de Angola; Rodrigo Subtil, representative of the funding agency Camões – Instituto da Cooperação e da Língua; as well as partner organizations such as INEFOP, BFA – Social Responsibility Department, and members of the national and diocesan boards of Cáritas.
Rosto Solidário is proud to coordinate this journey and reaffirms its commitment to women’s empowerment and human development in Angola.
Together, we are stronger!
