It is with great joy that we announce the appointment of Bárbara Gomes as the new General Coordinator of Rosto Solidário, a position she has held since March 2026.

With 23 years of experience in the third sector, Bárbara brings extensive expertise in the coordination, management and leadership of social projects at both national and international level. Throughout her career, she has worked in advisory roles to senior management, project leadership and general coordination, combining strategic, administrative and financial management with the coordination of multidisciplinary teams.

With a background in Clinical Psychology, she believes in leadership that is close, participatory and deeply people-centred, valuing teams and strengthening social responses with humanity and purpose.

The new General Coordinator takes on this challenge with a deep commitment to Rosto Solidário’s mission: promoting the social and human development of local communities and fostering global and solidarity-based citizenship.

She also embraces this mission because of her strong connection to the organisation’s values: solidarity, Christian inspiration, inclusion and justice, expressed through the defence of human dignity, the common good and shared responsibility.

As Bárbara Gomes explains, she aims to maintain “a coordination approach based on proximity, participation and ethical commitment, through inclusive leadership that values every person, promotes equality and creates safe, collaborative and human working environments.”

She also brings a distinctive and deeply human dimension, rooted in a passion for strengthening cooperation and teamwork, a commitment to serving others with dignity, and empathetic communication, putting the organisation’s values into practice from the inside out.

Her arrival marks a new chapter of hope, growth and consolidation for Rosto Solidário’s mission.

Aligned with the organisation’s leadership strategy, she will continue the work already developed, strengthening proximity, participation and ethical commitment.

Her vision is to continue supporting and strengthening community development, with particular attention to situations of greater vulnerability, contributing to a fairer, more supportive and more fraternal society.

Looking ahead, she aims to strengthen the organisation’s sustainability, social innovation and transformative impact.
