From 23 to 30 July 2026, the Act4SDGs youth exchange took place in Austria, focusing on the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and the importance of each citizen’s actions in building a more sustainable and inclusive future.
During this Erasmus+ experience, young participants from seven countries – Austria, Serbia, Portugal, Romania, Bulgaria, Slovenia and North Macedonia – had the opportunity to learn more about the SDGs and reflect on ways to contribute to their achievement in everyday life.
The week included outdoor activities, workshops, guest speakers, music, swimming in the lake, beach volleyball and other social activities. Participants also visited Klagenfurt, where they organised a flash mob in the city centre.
Beyond learning, the project provided an opportunity to build new friendships and connections with people from different countries and cultures. This international experience helped participants discover different perspectives on the SDGs and gain a deeper understanding of cultural diversity.
The eight Portuguese young people supported by Rosto Solidário also highlighted the development of their independence, English communication skills and teamwork abilities through living and collaborating with young people from different backgrounds.
In the end, Act4SDGs left participants with new experiences, friendships and a greater awareness of the importance of the SDGs, showing that cooperation between different cultures can contribute to building a better future.
