On 15 May, at Espargo Primary School (EB1 de Espargo), Rosto Solidário took part in the Family Day celebrations by organising a range of educational activities focused on interculturality, social inclusion and valuing diversity.

The initiative was aimed at pre-school and primary school pupils, creating opportunities for sharing, reflection and active participation within the school community.

Throughout the activities, children were invited to discover and appreciate the differences between their classmates, families and cultures, understanding that diversity is a natural characteristic of humanity and a source of richness for society.

Through playful activities, cooperative games and artistic exercises, participants reflected on topics such as respect for differences, the importance of welcoming others, empathy and solidarity.

One of the activities focused on the phenomenon of migration, introducing, in a simple and age-appropriate way, the concepts of voluntary and forced migration. The children had the opportunity to reflect on the reasons why many people leave their countries and on the importance of welcoming those who arrive in search of safety and better living conditions.

This activity highlights the important role of education, both in schools and within families, in building communities that are more inclusive, respectful and open to cultural diversity.

Through this initiative, Rosto Solidário reaffirms its commitment to promoting citizenship education, social inclusion and human rights, contributing to the development of children who are more aware, empathetic and actively engaged.
