The commitment to social transformation and building a more sustainable society brought the project partners together once again for the second Re-Crafts meeting, held in Cape Verde.
With a focus on cultural heritage preservation, sustainable tourism and creative recycling, Re-Crafts promotes the integration of artisans from the participating countries, strengthening the exchange of knowledge and recognising the value of local craftsmanship.
All partners shared the challenges encountered and the goals established for the project implementation period.
The meeting brought together representatives from partner organisations in Portugal, Spain, Mozambique, Angola and Cape Verde, the host country, and was funded by the European Union’s Erasmus+ programme.
What is the Re-Crafts Project?
Re-Crafts – Strengthening Vocational Education to Promote Craft and Upcycling Entrepreneurs in the Cultural and Green Tourism Value Chain is an intercontinental initiative that aims to revitalise local handicrafts and promote sustainable practices through vocational education and the strengthening of cultural and tourism enterprises based on recycling and the appreciation of cultural heritage.
The project focuses on quality vocational training, the creation and consolidation of sustainable businesses, and the promotion of employability and entrepreneurship, contributing to sustainable community development and the preservation of local traditions.
Expected Results
- Creation of a Value Chain Model involving local artisans, entrepreneurs and the tourism sector;
- Development of a Vocational Training Framework that systematises craft and entrepreneurship techniques and methodologies applicable to the realities of the participating territories.
The project partners are Rosto Solidário (Portugal), FEDESPAB (Portugal), Cáritas de Angola (Angola), Cáritas Moçambicana (Mozambique), Espaço Jovem (Cape Verde) and ASPAYM (Spain). The project is funded by the Erasmus+ programme.
