GreenDojos Continues to Take Shape!
Following the international meeting held in Portugal, the GreenDojos project is now entering a new phase of development.
Partners from Portugal, Italy, Ireland, Bulgaria and Türkiye continue to work together to create and validate innovative methodologies that promote active ageing through non-competitive physical activities inspired by martial arts and carried out in contact with nature.
Over the past few months, training resources for coaches have been developed.
New activities will soon be tested in green spaces, while existing activities that combine movement, well-being, social inclusion and nature will be further refined.
The collaborative work between partner organisations has made it possible to adapt the methodologies to different local contexts, ensuring that they can be implemented with people over the age of 55 across several European countries.
The project also continues to focus on valuing public spaces, encouraging participants to take care of the places where activities take place and strengthening their sense of belonging to the community.
The new pilot activities will begin soon, with further resources and opportunities for participation to be made available to professionals working in physical education, sport and well-being.
GreenDojos demonstrates that promoting active ageing also means caring for nature, strengthening communities and creating healthier cities for everyone.
