International Mobility Week Brings Together Nature and Environmental Citizenship
From 21 to 25 May, Rosto Solidário hosted a week in Santa Maria da Feira dedicated to the theme of water mobility, as part of an international educational programme bringing together environmental awareness activities, practical learning and cultural exchange.
The meeting began with an exploration of biodiversity through an outdoor Escape Room and a workshop on the same topic.
On the second day, participants took part in a visit and walk along the river in Póvoa de Varzim, ending the day with a meeting at the Climate Centre, highlighting the importance of cooperation in addressing environmental challenges.
The theme of water mobility was given particular attention through a practical activity focused on the analysis of aquatic ecosystems. Participants explored local waterways, identifying species, observing water quality and reflecting on natural and artificial barriers to water flow.
The programme also included challenges from Rosto Solidário’s Living Rivers project, promoting learning through educational and playful tools focused on water management, cooperation, and the interdependence between stakeholders and ecosystems.
Throughout the week, participants also had the opportunity to visit places of scientific and environmental interest, take part in outdoor activities and develop skills related to sustainability, water resource protection and ecological awareness.
It was a week marked by international cooperation, learning and appreciation of water as an essential resource for life and the balance of ecosystems.
The initiative reinforces Rosto Solidário’s commitment to environmental education and the promotion of sustainable practices among younger generations.
