The city of Belgrade hosted an international meeting on 28 and 29 April as part of the European VolunTrek project, bringing together partners from Portugal, Spain, Poland and Serbia.

The meeting, organised by Caritas Serbia, was attended by Rosto Solidário, Caritas Portugal, ASPAYM Castilla y León Youth and Regionalne Centrum Wolontariatu w Kielcach.

The VolunTrek project consortium works collaboratively to develop practical solutions to support organisations working with adult volunteers, with the aim of strengthening the skills of educators, professionals and organisations in the preparation, management and support of volunteering experiences.

With this vision, the project aims to promote higher-quality, more inclusive and impactful volunteering experiences, both in face-to-face and digital settings.

Key initiatives include the creation of an integrated volunteer management methodology, the development of tools to strengthen social, emotional and intercultural skills, and the introduction of innovative approaches, including digital volunteering.

One of the main highlights of the meeting was the progress made in developing the Adult Volunteer Management Toolkit, one of the project’s central resources, coordinated by Rosto Solidário.

The toolkit will include modules dedicated to volunteer preparation, essential skills development, and the management and coordination of volunteering programmes.

More than an expression of solidarity, volunteering is increasingly recognised as a fundamental pillar for building more resilient, participatory and cohesive communities.
